Red Bay Coffee

Red Bay Coffee comes out of Oakland, CA. We picked a dark roast knowing that's what the coffee drinkers among us love (and we've already heard from the coffee elite that Red Bay makes a great cup).

As has been noted elsewhere, coffee and tea were always going to be a part of the basket. It's just a must with the folks in our family and friend circle. Red Bay was on a number of lists and so we went for it.

I'm claiming a (albeit awkwardly distant/thin) connection to the coffee. Last year, Red Bay received Series A funding from one of the few black Silicon Valley executives we frequently had discussions with about what we were doing at Morehouse. (Yeah, I told you it was thin!) Like most of the other companies, this is still a company very much in its infancy even as it has secured resources to take it to the next level.

Also like most of the other businesses on the list, it has built diversity and diversifying into the very ethos of the business. Check out the following interview that shares more:
